Asset Manager

Position Summary:

The position will be part of an Asset Management team supporting operations and will interface directly with our senior leadership team. The Asset Management team is responsible for managing investor relationships for the organization. The position will work closely with the operational team and all other departments within Senior Lifestyle to meet investor needs and financial reporting requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Review operational performance and financial results for a portfolio of properties and compare performance to budget, historical and pro forma underwriting.
  • Financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting of existing assets – ability to review and recognize areas of opportunity, help identify root cause, and provide possible solutions for improvement in partnership with Operations team.
  • Prepare financial packages for investors and lenders to include financial performance and key performance metrics (Payroll, Occupancy, NOI, Debt Services/Lease Payments, etc).
  • Attend and actively participate in monthly/quarterly investor meetings (presenting financial performance, operational goals, market data, etc).
  • Actively participate in the creation of annual business plans and operating budgets
  • Works closely with Asset Management Analysts to create new efficiencies. Proactive approach to making changes to improve upon our investor relations and internal communications.
  • Develop strategy and procedure for internal and external reporting for measuring community performance.
  • Assistance with training and coaching team members
  • Interface with investors, lenders and senior leadership team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information


Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Business, Finance, Real Estate or Accounting
  • 5-10 years experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, and/or Real Estate
  • Experience with Seniors Housing or Healthcare Industry preferred, but not required
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Advanced experience with Excel (Hyperion experience a plus)
  • Interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, including community staff, residents, family members, and investors
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Light travel required
    • High level oral and written communication
    • Knowledge of real estate, underwriting, valuation, legal documentation, purchases/sales and property operations
